Kids love to receive rewards but that can be costly to provide each week. So why not try using a punch card? These business size cards are available from North Star Teaching Resources.
Below you will find a visual you can use along with the punch cards that announces to the kids how many punches they will earn for what activity. There are many options with points so you could create your own system.

How do you maintain order in your club? You need to set the
tone from the very beginning. Use a visual to remind the kids of what your clubs rules are. Below is a link to a great visual, called"Caleb's 5 Class Rules". Each letter in Caleb reminds the kids of a rule for the classroom. Check out the visual and see for yourself. There are 2 versions in the file. One has a white boy and one has the boy pictured to the right. Let us know if you found this visual helpful or if you have a favorite one of your own that you use.

When children sit on chairs, they tend to like to lean back on the chair and rock,
sometimes tipping themselves over or coming close to it. What I do is tell them they have a very important job to do in class. Usually this makes them feel very important.
Here is the job: When they sit on the chair, their job is to make the chair behave and keep its feet on the floor. There needs to be six feet on the floor, four for the chair and two for the child. If they continue to lean back, I warn them they have to make the chair behave or the chair will have to sit outside the learning circle and the child will have to sit on the floor. It usually works.
